Who is the program for?This program is for Pre-Doctor Of Physical Therapy (DPT) students, Pre-Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) students, and recent college graduates who are exploring or preparing for a career in physical therapy —especially those looking to stand out on applications by gaining unique shadowing experience abroad.

Do I need to speak Spanish to participate?Spanish fluency isn’t required; we recommend learning basic phrases beforehand to enhance your experience and communication.

What is the program cost?The cost of the program is $3,350. You can secure your spot by submitting a $700 deposit, which will be applied toward the total program fee. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the program start date.

How will transportation be arranged?Participants will be picked up from the airport and dropped off at the end of the program, and all transportation for team excursions will be provided. For your convenience, the only transportation participants will need to arrange is to and from the shadowing clinics and any personal trips. The average cost of an Uber ride in Mérida is around $3–$7 USD for short trips within the city

How long is the program and how many observation hours will I receive?The program is 2 weeks long, and participants will be able to earn up to 50 verified observation hours in various clinical physical therapy settings.

Will I receive documentation of my observation hours?Yes, participants will receive a certificate of completion, and all hours will be logged and signed by a licensed physical therapist using the official PTCAS observation hours form.

Where will I stay?Participants will reside in a charming colonial-style hotel located in the heart of Mérida’s historic downtown. This vibrant area is one of the most popular and tourist-friendly parts of the city, known for its walkable streets, cultural landmarks, local restaurants, and lively plazas.
