This program is designed for Pre-Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students, Pre-Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) students, and recent graduates who are exploring or preparing for a career in physical therapy. It is especially well suited for those looking to strengthen their applications by gaining unique international shadowing experience.
Spanish fluency isn’t required. We recommend learning basic phrases beforehand to enhance your experience and make communication easier
The program cost is $2,999 USD for Winter cohorts and $3,999 USD for Summer cohorts. Upon acceptance, your spot will be secured with a $500 non-refundable deposit, which is applied toward the total program fee. The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to the program start date.

Please note: Observation hours, excursions, and team dinners vary by winter or summer session
Participants will be picked up from the airport upon arrival and dropped off at the end of the program, and all transportation for team excursions will be provided. Participants are responsible for booking their own flights. For your convenience, the only transportation participants will need to arrange during the program is to and from the shadowing clinics, which will be via Uber and approved taxis, as well as any personal activities
Participants can choose from: a 2-week winter program with up to 50 verified observation hours, or a 3-week summer program with up to 75 verified hours in various clinical physical therapy settings
Yes, participants will receive a certificate of completion, and all hours will be documented and signed by a licensed physical therapist.
We also advise participants to check with their schools of choice to confirm whether these hours will count toward program required hours or be considered additional experience.

Participants will reside in a charming colonial-style hotel located in the heart of Mérida’s historic downtown. This vibrant area is one of the most popular and tourist-friendly parts of the city, known for its walkable streets, cultural landmarks, local restaurants, and lively plazas.
