The Nomad Experience
Real Patients. Real Lessons.
Our international clinical observation program was created for college students and recent graduates who want to experience physical therapy in a new way. Based in Merida, Yucatan, Nomad connects future physical therapists with real patients and licensed professionals in a diverse clinical and cultural environment.
We believe becoming a great physical therapist requires more than clinical knowledge. It takes communication, adaptability, cultural awareness, and the ability to connect with people from different backgrounds.
That is why we welcome students of all Spanish levels and embrace the challenges that come with practicing across cultures.
How do you care for a patient when language is a barrier?
How do you communicate with creativity, empathy, and teamwork?
Through these experiences, students build confidence, broaden their perspective of physical therapy, and develop skills they can carry into their future careers. We are proud to offer an experience that helps future therapists grow both personally and professionally.

Where Learning Meets Life
In this program, you won’t just observe physical therapy—you’ll experience the bigger picture:
➞ How cultural context affects care
➞ How to navigate language barriers with empathy and strategy
➞ How global systems offer different approaches to the same profession
By experiencing different healthcare settings, treatment approaches, and community practices, students gain a broader, more global perspective on physical therapy that will benefit them for years to come.

We're excited to welcome you to Mérida and can't wait to be part of your journey.
